What Are Resource Limits?

Shared hosting means your website shares server resources (CPU, memory, disk I/O) with other clients. To ensure fair use and keep things fast for everyone, each account has resource limits.

What Counts Toward Your Limits?

  • Disk Space — Your files, emails, databases, and logs
  • Email Accounts — The number of mailboxes you can create
  • Databases — The number of MySQL/MariaDB databases
  • Websites — The number of domains/websites on your account

What If I Hit a Limit?

  • Disk space full — You won't be able to upload new files or receive email. Free up space or upgrade your plan.
  • Email limit reached — Delete unused accounts or upgrade.
  • Database limit reached — Remove unused databases or upgrade.

How to Check Usage

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin
  2. Look at the Account Manager section on the dashboard
  3. You'll see your current usage for disk space, email, databases, and domains

Need More Resources?

If you're consistently hitting limits, it's time to upgrade. See How to Upgrade Your Plan.
